About Burl Walker
I am a Spanish instructor at North Greenville University in Tigerville, SC. Having served as a youth pastor, associate pastor, connections pastor and even at one time by default being the interim senior pastor when the senior pastor left suddenly without a replacement, I have seen many sides of church life. This inspired the beginning of a blog called “Church Life”, which in April of 2011 was changed to “Christian Leadership” because I was no longer serving in a leadership capacity at a church. “Christian Leadership” is born out of a desire to see people learn to be better and more effective leaders both in the church world and in the marketplace. I also have a blog called “Start Stuff” that’s goal is to inspire people to act on their ideas and get things started whether that be a business, not for profit organization, club, church or something completely different.
In my professional life I am currently the president of the South Carolina chapter of the American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese(SCAATSP). I am the outgoing President of the South Carolina Council on Languages (SCCOL) and am on the board of the South Carolina Foreign Language Teachers Association (SCFLTA)
I love hanging out with my awesome wife! When I get a chance I love preaching and speaking to community groups, especially in the education world. I really enjoy inline skating, especially speedskating, reading, blogging, and unlike most people, I absolutely love my job.
